Stylish Safety Nationwide Safety Campaign
Stylish Safety, Inc, a company that offers dynamic and motivational safety seminars is conducting a nationwide women's safety campaign. The campaign, “Listen for the Whistle,” consists of two parts – an innovative women’s safety program, “Dangerous Divas’ Safety Tactics,” and the sale of the “Divas Crystal Whistle™,” a designer brass whistle embellished with genuine European crystals attached to a leather cord. A portion of the proceeds from the campaign is donated to The National Center for Victims of Crime.
Referred by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as “a fresh and unique approach to a very important issue,” the goal of the “Listen for the Whistle” campaign is to promote women’s safety awareness while raising money for victims of crime. The “Divas Crystal Whistle™” is the campaign symbol and an invaluable safety device. As a visual and audible crime deterrent, women of ALL ages are urged to CARRY the whistle, USE the whistle, and “LISTEN FOR THE WHISTLE.” The campaign advocates that the sound of a whistle means somebody may need help.
Stylish Safety, Inc, was co-founded by attorney, Lidia Szczepanowski-Goldsmith, also the current Mrs. NY International and the former Mrs. New York America. The mission is to promote awareness, build confidence, and instill strength into women; empowering them with skills to avoid or fight back against an attacker. During seminars, Lidia, a karate black belt, urges women to “know their weapons” and demonstrates how to use “natural” weapons (i.e. voice, body parts, confidence) together with “material” weapons (i.e. shoes, keys, hair spray or whistle). “Women leave our seminars more confident, walking with their chins higher and shoulders back further,” explains Szczepanowski-Goldsmith. “We teach women not to live in fear, but to always be aware of their surroundings” she continued.
