Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce Hosts Innovative Economic, Environmental and Educational Expo
Workshops, Trade Show, Green Job Fair and Luncheon
The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce hosted an innovative “Economic, Environmental and Educational Expo” with workshops, trade show and luncheon to address important issues facing Long Island’s businesses and industries. Keynote Speaker at the luncheon was Martin Cantor, Director of the Long Island Economic and Social Policy Institute at Dowling College. Admission to the Expo between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon is FREE and sponsored by Green Peak Group; Verizon; The Home Depot; North Shore Financial Group, an office of MetLife; Community National Bank; Newsday; JVKellyGroup; Capital One Bank; LI Business News; Triangle Equities; August Benefits, Nightingale PR, Farmingdale State College, Farrell Fritz, Division 7 Roofing, Adelphi University, National Reis, Mediation and Collaboration Action Group and Harvest Solar Power Briarcliffe College, All Island Media, National REIS, H2M, National Grid, Adelphi University, Mediation and Collaborative Action Group and Harvest Solar Power.
Few entrepreneurs, small business owners and corporations are aware of the vital resources available to them. This unique program shared information and offered both “Green” tools, innovative financial solutions and training workshops which provided a framework to create a culture of sustainability, environmental and financial responsibility within their businesses during these tough economic times. The program addressed important issues facing long Island’s business and industries. Workshops included:
• “Best In Business Banking” a seminar which covered how to make the most of your banking relationships
• “Financing Green Projects” examined how to obtain the best return on investment and review private, institutional
lending and government grants
• “Renewable Energy: What Works for You” covered solar, wind and geothermal topics of interest
• “Green Job Workshops” specifically focused on new trends in environmental career paths
The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce developed an informative program which presented practical solutions which can be utilized to address ways to finance and save on environmental projects, corporate sustainability and its future impact within our communities “The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce feels it is important to focus on new state-of-the-art technologies and financing options that support an environmentally responsible community,” explained Robert Bontempi, Huntington Chamber Chairman.
